Jump In to Support Gotta Have Sole

How you can help: Start a fundraiser at your school!

Gotta Have Sole Foundation donates brand-new footwear to children in homeless shelters in order to open up opportunities for them. The organization also educates and empowers young leaders across the country to recognize the true face of homelessness in America and respond by taking action.

This Spring we’re launching “The JUMP IN to Give Back Campaign” to encourage student leaders like YOU all across the country to hold fundraisers in order to donate more new shoes to homeless children across america.

On average it costs Gotta Have Sole $20 to buy and ship brand-new shoes to a homeless child, so we’re challenging students across America to host fundraisers and support at least 20 homeless children in your area by raising $400 or more. We believe in the value of leadership, and we’re happy to award the student who raises the most funds for homeless youth, and reports back, will be selected for a scholarship for school (see more details below).

Get Started!
There are many different ways to support Gotta Have Sole programs and fundraise for children in homeless shelters across the country. Here’s a few ideas to help you host your fundraiser.

How to host your fundraiser:

  • Host a fundraiser at your school: It’s easy to host a fundraiser at your school, talk to your teachers or advisors about setting up a table at your commons or cafeteria and ask your friends, teachers, and peers to make a donation to support homeless youth in your area. Take a look at our other creative ideas below and consider doing a sneaker-decorating drive, or a bake sale.
  • Host a fundraiser with your school volunteer club: Are you part of a Key Club, Kiwanis Club, part of Girls Scouts or Boy Scouts, or does your school have a Volunteer Club? Work together to host a Gotta Have Sole Fundraiser at your school or in your community. Get creative and use some of the ideas below to get more students and community members involved!
  • Start your own peer to peer fundraiser: Using our online platform partnership with Classy you can start an online fundraiser to feature what’s most important to you, about Gotta Have Sole. Click here to get started, then select “start fundraising” and you can customize your own fundraising page to share with your friends, families, and followers!
  • Use the Sneaker Card as a fundraising tool: At Gotta Have Sole we give personalized and decorated cards along with each of our shoe donations. You can help us by decorating and personalizing these shoe cards to bring a smile to homeless children in need. Use this as a fundraising tool and ask people to donate $1 or $5 to decorate a shoe. Then let them know that these cards will be personalized and included with the new footwear you donate to homeless children!
  • A few more ideas to help you customize your fundraiser:
    • Sole Food Bake Sale: Bake lots of goodies and sell them during lunchtime or anytime. Make it known that 100% of the proceeds go to your Gotta Have Sole Club’s footwear program for homeless children in your community.
    • Cookies for a cause: For a twist on a traditional bake sale, hold Cookies for a Cause. Bake shoe-shaped sugar cookies and set up a table to decorate those cookies. You can then ask people to make a donation in order to decorate and then (of course!) eat their cookie! It’s a fun way to do a Bake Sale in a new way!
  • Create your own fundraiser! There are so many great ways to fundraise and raise awareness about homeless youth. We want to hear about how you fundraise for Gotta Have Sole and homeless children. Tell us all about your ideas!
